Problem

Based on a survey involving 1,050 adults in US, 77% respondents prefer movies at home because of the price. On the contrary, the other 33% respondents expressed a willingness to go back to the theatre for it’s overall movie theater experience such as ambiance and movie quality. There is a has been a significant decline in traditional movie attendance as technology advances.

Solution

  • Develop a website and an app that showcases old and new independent films.

  • Create features that offers rewards and perks to entice viewers.

  • Allow users to find theaters, filter through movies, view trailers, see show times, pick seats, and check out tickets.

Takeaways

By understanding the user, it has allowed me to develop a solution that aimed to address the needs of both users and theaters. Designing enticing rewards can motivate users to frequent movie theaters more regularly, thereby attracting a larger customer base for the cinemas. After the final user testing, feedback saw a 20% increase in user satisfaction scores.
