Problem

Online learners often encounter challenges such as potential biases against online credentials from the employers. Employers also tend to not reveal what exactly the jobs qualifications/requirements are, creating confused and potential stress for job seekers. On top of that, application processes across various platforms contribute to time-consuming and inconvenient experiences.

Solution

  • Develop a website and an app that offers courses from third party entities such as universities, corporations, industry leaders, etc.

  • Create features that enabling learners to gain clear insights into job’s qualifications and requirements.

  • Job seekers be able to have job application capabilities directly through the platform.

Takeaways

Conducting usability studies, I recognized pain points in the enrollment process and implemented design improvements, which increased user engagement by 40%. By empathizing with users through methods like user research, interviews, affinity mapping, user personas, and user flows, I gained a better understanding of what users want and need in a website/application that could potentially change their lives. This experience taught me a lot about communication, organization, and time management.

Next Steps

  • creating more learning features/content

  • allowing industry leaders to offer their education on our platform

  • developing the job application sector for OCCUPIFY
